Salma Dammak
Postdoctoral Researcher
Salma is a post-doctoral researcher at the Computational Pathology Group working within the pan-European BigPicture project in close partnership with the global pharmaceutical company UCB. She is supervised by Geert Litjens, and her project focuses on developing AI tools that aid pathologists in pre-clinical pathology slide analysis with the goal of accelerating and improving the drug development pipeline. Salma obtained her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Western University in Canada where she developed AI models to address challenges in the diagnosis and treatment of lung, head and neck, and pancreatic cancers for both pathology and radiology applications. She completed her work at the London Regional Cancer Program in the London Health Sciences Center in Canada under the supervision of Dr. Aaron Ward and Dr. David Palma.
