Sofía León

Nohemí Sofía León Contreras is a student of the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree in Medical Imaging and Applications (MaIA). She is an awardee of the European Union: Erasmus+ EMJMD scholarship. In 2021, she received her bachelor degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey Campus Guadalajara. During her master thesis project, she will be joining the Computational Pathology group from February 2023 until July 2023. She will work in self-supervised pre-training for digital pathology under the supervision of Francesco Ciompi and Marina D'Amato. The project aims to develop a very high-level representation of the pathology images to improve the performance of state-of-the-art downstream tasks, such as image segmentation, classification, or object detection.
